Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am till 5.30pm (Flexible for the needs of the Business)
Our client is a well-established printed packaging manufacturer supplying into a wide range of market sectors in the UK. They produce packaging mainly for the retail sector which includes self-adhesive labels, linerless labels and printed folded cartons. These are produced using Lithographic, Flexographic and Digital Print Processes.
They are currently looking to recruit a Group Stock Controller to be based on site in taking ownership of stock control across the group of three manufacturing businesses. You will take full ownership of stock accuracy and control across the three sites which are within a close proximity of each other, working within a busy warehouse environment and collaborating closely with production, purchasing and planning teams at each business.
This role will involve you using the business purpose built, user-friendly MIS system to effectively manage stock levels across all sites. Full training on the systems will be provided, though previous experience of stock control within a manufacturing or warehouse environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of stock control and stock accuracy across 3 manufacturing sites, ensuring consistent processes and reliable data at each location
- Manage stock in/out, including co-pack stock, across all sites
- Manage board stock, paper stock, corrugated, cores, consumables and finished stock through accurate stock counting at each site
- Complete end of month stock takes across all three businesses, consolidating results into a single group stock position
- Check that correct levels of stock are available at each site and proactively flag shortages or excess stock
- Coordinate stock transfers between sites where required, to minimise waste, downtime and duplicate ordering
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, identifying root causes and putting corrective actions in place
- Update previous counts and maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the MIS system
- Produce regular stock reports and KPIs for site and senior management
- Liaise with production, purchasing, planning and warehouse teams across all three businesses to ensure stock availability supports production schedules
- Support the standardisation of stock control processes and best practice across the group
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a stock control, inventory or warehouse role, ideally within a manufacturing, print or packaging environment
- Experience working across multiple sites or business units is highly desirable
- Confident using MIS/ERP or stock management systems, alongside excellent administration skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- A motivated and conscientious work ethic, able to work independently and manage your own workload across sites
- Excellent communication skills, able to liaise confidently with multiple stakeholders across three businesses
- A pro-active, problem-solving approach
- A full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel regularly between three sites within a close proximity of each other
