DOUBLE DAYS ALTERNATE WEEKS - Monday to Friday: 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm

Our client is a specialist manufacturer operating within the paper packaging sector, serving a diverse range of customers across multiple consumer-facing industries. The business offers a broad range of bespoke production and finishing capabilities, providing tailored, made-to-order solutions to meet specific customer requirements and support brand presentation.

They are currently recruiting for a Flexographic Printer to join their production team. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and accurate operation of printing equipment, ensuring jobs are produced to the required specification, quality standards and production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and understand job cards to ensure the correct materials, plates, sleeves, cylinders, inks and other required components are selected
  • Correctly mounting plates, sleeves and cylinders and preparing the press for production
  • Mixing inks to the required colour specification and setting ink, varnish, register, web route, tensions, clock and counter settings
  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate colour standards and recording plate, sleeve and roller locations for each new design
  • Operating machinery safely and efficiently, following manual handling guidance and using equipment correctly
  • Completing all required production, job-specific & maintenance documentation accurately
  • Ensuring finished reels are correctly labelled and stored
  • Carrying out basic machine maintenance and reporting any issues relating to plates, rollers, sleeves or equipment to the appropriate manager
  • Minimising paper and ink wastage and maintaining an organised, clean and safe working environment
  • Keeping tools secure, accounted for and stored appropriately
  • Carrying out risk assessments where required
  • Supporting colleagues and working effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Maintaining appropriate training records where responsible for training others
  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety, PPE, personal hygiene, BRC and company procedures

Requirements:

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate good administrative and maths skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain a clean, tidy & organised work area
  • Responsibility for the cleanliness and general upkeep of equipment and the work area
  • Ability to maintain accurate training records where responsible for training colleagues
  • Commitment to following all relevant health and safety procedures
  • Willingness to wear the required PPE and maintain appropriate site hygiene standards
  • Commitment to following BRC, health and safety and company policies and procedures
  • Ability to follow safe working procedures when setting up and operating machinery and associated equipment
