Our client is a family-owned integrated Corrugated Packaging Company based in Australia. They are a phenomenal business who have state of the art machinery and are renowned for their impeccable quality and service levels! Our client makes impressive and continual investment into their business and employees as they are now looking to take the next step in their development and expansion plans.

They are currently looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager looking to relocate to Australia to join their growing team. You will be responsible for leading and managing the continuous improvement (CI) activities to drive process optimisation and standardisation, productivity improvement cost improvement and overall business profitability. Typical improvement activity results in improved safety, productivity, quality and cost reductions.

This role is a key position responsible for the delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across the company corrugated operations. You will play an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the creation and embedding of LEAN methodology, and the supporting framework, to deliver business transformation. This position is responsible for managing the implementation of Continuous Improvement methods such as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, 8-D, Problem Solving and Value Stream Analysis to drive out waste and improve productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and continuously strengthen a culture of safety across the business, embedding safe practices into all manufacturing processes and acting as a visible safety leader
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to achieve world-class performance in waste reduction, product effectiveness, make-ready times, downtime and run speeds
  • Initiate and deliver projects that improve efficiency, enhance quality and optimise labour and equipment utilisation to achieve lowest-cost production
  • Ensure all non-conformances are identified, investigated and resolved with appropriate corrective actions, with reporting requirements consistently met
  • Collaborate closely with logistics to develop effective production plans and address any deviations from plan
  • Lead and coordinate a wide range of continuous improvement initiatives across the corrugated operation, taking a hands-on role in testing, validating and implementing process improvements
  • Conduct detailed operational analysis including cost, quality, productivity, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis, developing actionable strategies for improvement
  • Perform operational audits to identify opportunities and establish measurement systems to track performance and quantify improvements
  • Monitor trends and process variations to support a robust continuous improvement framework
  • Take ownership of change initiatives from identification through to delivery, ensuring alignment with internal governance and controls
  • Ensure all project impacts, objectives, and dependencies are clearly defined, managed and reported
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to confirm successful delivery and capture learnings for future improvement
  • Apply sound professional judgement by analysing issues, evaluating options, and making timely, well-reasoned decisions aligned with business policies, procedures and risk considerations
  • Demonstrate a strong focus on execution by taking ownership of work, securing necessary resources, removing obstacles, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach by identifying needs, delivering value-added solutions, improving service levels, and building strong, collaborative relationships
  • Drive results through a high level of accountability, urgency and persistence, ensuring key objectives and initiatives are delivered successfully
