CAD DESIGNER - RETAIL / EXHIBITION HYBRID ROLE - GREATER LONDON
Hours of work: 40 hours per week (Office 3 days / Homebased 2 Days a Week)
Salary up to £45K (Dependent upon experience)
Our client is a global leader in the Retail Shopfitting and Exhibition industry, with offices in the UK, Europe and Dubai. They deliver high-end projects on behalf of premium and luxury global brands, always striving to surpass client expectations. As part of their ambitious growth, our client is looking for an experienced CAD Designer, with experience in retail / events / exhibitions sector to join the dynamic team.
The successful candidate will have:
- Thorough knowledge of bespoke retail and or event production
- Extensive experience in successfully producing detailed technical drawings.
- Excellent design skills with attention to detail.
- Technical background with extensive knowledge of production and construction.
- An ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously (independently and as part of a team) ensuring tasks are prioritised and deadlines met.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well (verbally and in writing) with sub-contractors, clients, partners, suppliers, and colleagues, across various locations and at all levels within these organisations.
- Up to date knowledge of trends, technology, materials, finishes, manufacturing methods etc.
- The ability to multitask and to work under pressure; always maintaining a cool head.
- Flexible, with a positive outlook and attitude.
- A University Degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject and familiarity with various CAD software programmes (e.g. AutoCAD, Solidworks, Vectorworks etc.)
The CAD Designer will be responsible for:
- Creating full, accurate and detailed working production drawing packs and technical templates (2-D drafting, 3D modelling, fabrication drawings etc.), for use in all stages of the project (from tender to manufacture/construction and installation).
- Translating, displaying and communicating technical drawings, issues, resolutions, etc. to the wider production team
- Participate in internal and external meetings to effectively present design work, from pitch through to development.
- Providing creative and technical advice to guide the team and clients when making design-based decisions.
- Ensuring designs are compliant with industry and health and safety standards and protocols.
- Conducting site visits, surveys and overseeing on-site builds as required.
- Managing own workloads with a hands-on approach to all aspects of the role.
- Collaborating with others to establish and work to timelines and budgets.
