Our client is a specialist in the manufacture of high quality conventional corrugated packaging for FMCG markets, particularly blue chip clients in Beverage, Food and Confectionery.
They are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to cover the North East. You will be reporting to the Sales Manager.
They are looking for someone to be focused and driven to seek new business opportunities in qualified market sectors that fit the business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Using a consultative sales approach, build strong relationships with prospects and customers by understanding their requirements and recommending appropriate packaging solutions
- Actively seek and identify new business opportunities within FMCG markets
- Develop customer accounts to create a balanced portfolio that reduces transactional purchasing and maximises the value of the company's products and service offering
- Identify potential Key Accounts with significant growth potential in conjunction with the Regional Business Development function
- Ensure customer expectations are consistently met and exceeded
- Act as an Ambassador for the company at all times
- Support the clients' technical requirements in line with the defined sales strategy
- Promote the company's range of innovative products and performance papers
- Promptly process customer requests relating to pricing, claims, samples, and specifications
- Organise and host business reviews as appropriate and in line with customer expectations
- Drive margin enhancement through continuous improvement initiatives and value-added opportunities
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers and internal teams
- Complete sales reports in the required format, to agreed standards, and within specified timescales
Requirements:
- Excellent relationship-building skills
- Previous experience within the corrugated packaging industry
- A strong desire to generate new business through targeted prospecting and identifying market sectors aligned with the company's strategic objectives
- Tenacious, positive, and proactive 'can-do' attitude
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Structured sales approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Highly motivated with a strong desire to succeed
- Numerate and commercially astute
- Organised, professional, and personable in attitude, conduct and appearance
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
