Our client is a leading, award-winning designer and manufacturer of innovative packaging solutions. They manufacture Conventional and Heavy Duty Corrugated Packaging, Retail POS, Pallet Packs - plain and printed.
They are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to support the current customer base, as well as to identify and develop opportunities for new business. This role requires technical and industry knowledge coupled with selling skills to manage and support new and existing customers.
You will be working alongside the site and wider management team identifying and winning new business opportunities alongside looking after a portfolio of established accounts as the role is 70% New Business and 30% Existing Business.
The ideal candidate will understand and have experience of heavy duty corrugated, timber cases / packaging and consumables and also conventional corrugated packaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver new business sales in line with the site capabilities, expectation will be £350k pa in your first year.
- Manage existing customers allocated with a value circa £1.5m - £2m per annum.
- Achieving the annual volume budget for the territory.
- Maintaining a sales pipeline updated regularly.
- Provide a monthly sales report detailing salient points of customer activity and new business opportunities.
- Attending meetings, fulfilling agreed objectives set for the forthcoming period.
Requirements:
- Experience in a Business Development / Key Account Management role, ideally with experience of corrugated, sheet plant or packaging merchant .
- Excellent technical and analytical skills with sound industry and competitor understanding.
- Proven sales growth experience within the relevant sectors.
- Effective communication and presentation skills to work closely with middle and senior management and technical staff.
- Ability to effectively negotiate with clients and position the company as a differentiated product provider.
- Must be target driven and dynamic with a hands-on can-do attitude and a strong drive to succeed.
