UK WIDE (HOMEBASED)

Our client is a well-established and highly respected print and packaging manufacturer with a longstanding reputation for quality, service, and innovation. Historically recognised for its strength within commercial print, the business has made significant investments in its carton packaging capabilities and is now seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive growth across this key division.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a financially stable organisation with substantial production capacity, modern equipment, and a genuine appetite to expand its carton packaging market share throughout the UK.

Reporting directly into senior management, the successful candidate will take ownership of developing new business opportunities for carton packaging solutions across a wide range of market sectors.

The position is predominantly homebased, with attendance at the company's manufacturing site in Derbyshire typically required approximately 2-4 times per month, depending on location, customer commitments and experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, targeting, and securing new carton packaging opportunities across the UK.
  • Developing relationships with brand owners, manufacturers, and procurement professionals across multiple industry sectors.
  • Generating and converting new business leads through proactive sales activity.
  • Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to quotation, negotiation, and contract award.
  • Working closely with internal estimating, production, and customer service teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Building a robust pipeline of opportunities and delivering against agreed sales targets.
  • Providing market intelligence and identifying emerging trends and opportunities within the packaging sector.

The business offers extensive carton packaging production capabilities, including:

  • Cartonboard production up to 700gsm.
  • Die-cutting facilities.
  • Folder-gluer capabilities.
  • High-quality print and finishing solutions.
  • Significant available production capacity to support growth.

They are keen to speak with experienced packaging sales professionals who can demonstrate:

  • A proven track record of selling carton packaging solutions.
  • Strong new business development skills.
  • The ability to identify and win profitable opportunities.
  • Existing industry contacts and relationships that can generate sales growth.
  • Commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work successfully from a home-based environment.
  • Experience selling folding cartons, cartonboard packaging, printed packaging, or related packaging solutions would be highly advantageous.
