ASSISTANT QUALITY MANAGER

LOCATION: NORTHERN IRELAND

Salary £Open (Depending on Experience)

Hours of Working: 8:30am to 4:30pm (Monday to Thursday) and 8:30am to 1:30pm (Friday)

Our client is a manufacturer of printed folding cartons (approx. 90%) and labels (10%), supplying a variety of market sectors including food, drinks, pharmaceutical and healthcare markets.

They are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Quality Manager to join their Quality Department. Within this role you will be assisting and supporting the Quality Manager in maintenance, monitoring and implementation of the Integrated Management Systems (BRC/ISO9001/PS9000/ISO14001/Chain of Custody)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that products adhere to customer specification, expectation, and regulatory requirements. In conjunction with production managers and PC team, monitoring of GMP compliance, provision of training and driving continuous improvement with specific focus on product, and customer quality standards
  • Line Management of Process Quality Control Team (including coordination of rotas, sampling, rework and sorting activities)
  • Responsible for ensuring that assessment of product quality is completed on time, to customer specification, and delivery date
  • Managing Complaint and Internal NCR Investigations - logging, processing, collections, review of investigations and ensuring timely response sent to the customer
  • Maintaining internal information systems such as KPIs, scorecards, GMP Audit Findings, meeting minutes and trending of complaints
  • Managing the Internal audit system (including internal, GMP and Supplier Audits) ensuring schedule is communicated and that corrective / preventative actions are identified, implemented and tracked to closure
  • Assist the Quality Manager in ensuring all customer and third-party audits meet requirements, including assistance with completion of Customer Supplier Questionnaire information
  • Supporting the Quality Manager in IMS reviews to identify areas for continuous improvement
  • Supporting with review and update of company procedures and policies to ensure compliance to standards, including tracking of procedural and Memo training
  • Streamlining all reporting/process control and monitoring systems within the factory
  • Assistance with coordination of calibration and validation activities of quality critical equipment

Requirements:

  • 3rd Level Qualification or experience working in the printed packaging industry
  • Experience of quality procedures or practices
  • Internal Audit qualification or experience
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001; BRC standard, HACCP
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • Team leadership qualities and personal development skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative, self-motivated, well organised and assertive
  • Logical approach, excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Report writing and procedural writing skills
  • Lead Auditor Qualification - Desirable
  • Level 3 HACCP - Desirable
  • Knowledge of the Retailer Standards - Desirable
