SALARY £42-43K (Depending on Experience) + Overtime Rates
SHIFTS: 1 X DAY SHIFT: Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm
1 X NIGHT SHIFT: Monday to Friday - 10pm to 6am
Our client is a leading corrugated packaging manufacturer, supplying to a variety of markets throughout the UK, they have made a vast investment into the business over the past few years and have experienced significant growth and increase in workload.
They are currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of production by carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding quickly to machinery breakdowns. Working as part of a small but dedicated engineering team, you will service, maintain, and repair a range of production equipment, helping to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery and equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automated system faults to minimise downtime
- Ensure machinery is serviced and maintained to maximise production efficiency and reliability
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs
- Work closely with the production and manufacturing teams to maintain continuous production flow
- Complete maintenance records accurately and report any recurring issues or improvement opportunities
- Support the installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of machinery and equipment
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company health & safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Work collaboratively within the engineering team while also being able to work independently when required
- Provide support to colleagues and assist with engineering projects as needed
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance, with experience of hydraulics, pneumatics, and computerised control systems
- Ability to diagnose faults quickly and carry out effective repairs under pressure
- Experience of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and organised approach to work
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively
- A reliable, flexible team player with the ability to work independently
- Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with production teams
- Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent) is desirable
