PRODUCTION MANAGER CAMBRIDGESHIRE

£35K - £40K

Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm / Monday - Friday

Our client is a Large Format & Display company based in Cambridgeshire, they are looking to recruit a Production Manager to join their highly successful team. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, enthusiastic, reliable and have a passion for making a real difference to the performance of their production departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of the workshop and overall line management for the stand building and print team.
  • Production planning and overseeing every stand build from the initial workshop construction and print functions to management of logistics and on-site installation / breakdown.
  • Responsible for overall quality, efficiency and production of the custom exhibition stand services.
  • Motivating and organising the team to achieve the department operational needs.
  • Providing and / or organising on the job training, guidance and coaching to all members of the production team.
  • Overseeing the planning and production of custom builds.
  • Overseeing the logistics and transportation of stands to events.
  • Managing the production team and ensuring the operation is efficient.

Role:

  • Direct line management responsibility of the Production Team (exhibition stand builders and Senior Stand Builders).
  • Plan and schedule all elements of stand build work, logistics, installations and breakdowns in line with the business requirements.
  • Ensure the workshop operates at peak efficiency.
  • Liaise regularly with Senior Stand Builders to analyse and develop action plans for productivity and loss prevention.
  • Motivate the team(s) to achieve business goals.
  • Implement and maintain an efficient goods in/out process.
  • Ensure stock and client owned components are stored correctly and in suitable locations throughout the workshop buildings. Maintain record of stock/inventory locations.
  • Overall responsibility for an efficient production line, including good housekeeping, workshop organisation and effective production planning to reduce costs.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of production materials.
  • Work with key suppliers of materials to ensure costs are kept as low as possible without impacting the quality of materials used.
  • Provide and organise training (either on the job or externally) in line with business needs, ensuring the company is constantly improving and achieving high standards.
  • Working with the company Directors to improve delivery of services, efficiency and management of costs.
  • Responsible for complying with health and safety in-line with the relevant company policies and the specific exhibition organisers health and safety regulations.
  • To complete any other tasks that are deemed as reasonable.

  • Able to review the practises and identify where improvements should be made, make recommendations and implement changes.
  • Previous experience in the exhibition stand building industry or relevant experience of a similar role.
