Our client is a long established and very successful global organisation supplying the highest quality labelling, ticketing and point of sale products into retailers and brand owners. Offering a wide range of apparel related packaging and accessories.

They are currently looking to recruit a New Business Development Executive to join their team. This role is focused on driving profitable growth through generating new business, which will include a mixture of large and medium-sized accounts. The targeted accounts would be expected to be worth in excess of £200K annual labelling/packaging spend.

This is a home-based role, reporting into the office weekly, although the geographic scope is global, so an element of overseas travel should be expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Role is split approx. 80% new business and 20% managing existing accounts
  • Researching organisations and individuals online (especially on social media) to identify new leads and potential new markets
  • Researching the needs of targets and learning who makes decisions about purchasing
  • Devising plans and strategies for new marketing initiatives / selling to new customers
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
  • Arranging meetings and pitching the company products
  • Prepare presentations and present samples
  • Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims
  • Develop quotes and proposals, understand and influence client decisions, lead them to reach a positive conclusion on the company
  • Negotiate by phone, email, and in person, through to closing sales
  • Maintaining close relationships with targets and clients
  • Arranging regular meetings / visits
  • Identifying client product requirements and communicating the opportunity throughout the company
  • Communicating regularly with the wider team
  • Writing regular reports and providing feedback about activity/pipeline, performance against target and what is and what isn't working
  • Providing considered sales forecasts with supporting narrative
  • Identifying any additional resources required and opportunities to expand products

Requirements:

  • Have at least 5 years proven experience of strategic thinking, developing client relationships and driving growth by closing sales with apparel retailers and/or manufacturers
  • Be self-motivated, able to work under your own initiative, results-focused and target orientated
  • Possess proven organisational skills, including managing personal time, customer/prospect contact and communicating with the rest of the team
  • Believe in commitment to customer service
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and strong analytical, numeracy and advanced
  • Microsoft Office / Computer Literacy skills
  • Have a full UK driving licence
