Our client is a leading large format graphics and display Company based in Kent, looking for individuals who want to put their hand up and challenge convention to create something exciting, bigger and better each and every time.
They are now looking to recruit a Estimator to join their team, the role is to build and submit costings and tender pricing for the above client sectors across the full variety of the companies clients and markets.

You will work closely with the client facing project manager team, build operations teams & Production Manager teams to ensure all projects and live build Installations are correctly commercially priced via a mixture of internal production and outsource partners.

The role would be suited to an experienced Estimator or a Project Manager / Project Co Ordinator looking to step into more of a commercial position.

Role / Responsibilities:

  • Pricing and estimating enquiries that come from multiple areas of the business and project management teams within the Build and Fabrication teams.
  • Tender support for build and fabrication new business.
  • Building strong and long lasting relationships with internal client teams & existing outsource suppliers.
  • Working with procurement teams to ensure that external outsource suppliers are correctly on-boarded and adhere to the companies purchasing SLA's and KPIs.
  • Generate accurate estimates by liaising between internal departments
  • Attend technical briefings on large projects to understand requirements and advise on the best approach to production, aiding the accuracy of the estimating process and driving cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Liaise between sales, production and project department the brief and requirements of the project
  • Operate and develop varying Estimating tools to produce accurate quotations.
  • Estimate costs by analysing labour, material and time requirements by working with production teams to collate this information accurately.
  • Researching, sourcing, negotiating and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for a whole host of requirements and services.
  • Visiting project sites to gather information for accurate costing.
  • Analysing data that can affect costs (such as currency exchange rates and the company's productivity capacity) as well as follow up on project costs post completion

Skills / Experience

  • Extensive technical understanding of how exhibitions and events business operate and function
  • Experience working with wood raw materials
  • Excellent timekeeping and good communication skills
  • CAD understanding ideally preferred
  • Knowledge of using Octanorm and event build systems
  • Carpentry/joinery skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical LED lighting systems and AV would be beneficial
  • Excellent ability to project manage, problem solve, work to deadlines with fantastic organisation skills.
  • Hardworking, reliable ability to work as part of a team and take instruction
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise, you will be working across a number of activities with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office suite.
